At SmartGear NZ, extending the useful life of technology is a practical part of what we do. Pre-owned devices, trade-ins and repair options can help customers get more value from existing technology while reducing unnecessary replacement.

Reuse before replacement

Where a device is suitable for continued use, our focus is to test, prepare and return it to useful service rather than treating working technology as disposable.

Trade-in and second life

Our trade-in service gives eligible phones, tablets, laptops and other devices another pathway after their current owner no longer needs them. Devices are assessed individually and may be prepared for resale, repair or parts recovery depending on condition.

Repair where practical

For customers who already own a device, repair can often be a sensible alternative to immediate replacement. SmartGear offers device repair and assessment services for supported products.

Packaging and responsible operations

We aim to use packaging efficiently and reuse suitable protective packaging where practical, while still prioritising safe delivery of electronics.
